13U & 15U RiverDogs Rep Baseball 2024
Tryout Commitment Intent
2024 Riverdogs Rep Intent/Tryout for 13UAA or 13UAAA & 15U A or AA players.
All players with the intent of trying out for the following 13U (2011/2012) and 15U (2009/2010) Rep Riverdogs teams must register their intent by no later than January 31, 2024.
This requirement does not guarantee the player a roster spot but allows KMBA to gauge interest and talent levels to determine how many competitive teams we can field per division in 2024. The player must state the level they played in the 2023 season.
Playing at a certain level in 2023 does not guarantee a player a roster spot on the same team for the 2024 season.
By completing this process KMBA will also determine if we will not field a team at certain levels, to allow historic KMBA players the options to pursue transfers to other associations for their desired level of play. If you have any questions before signing up, during or after the process you may contact the President, firstname.lastname@example.org or Technical Director, email@example.com
Objective: KMBA’s objective for the 2024 rep season is to field one of either a 15U AA or 15UA team and a minimum of two teams at the 13U level, either AA or AAA.
Upon receiving interest and commitment levels for the 2024 season, KMBA will name 12-15 players for each team based on player ability and coach availability. KMBA will recruit and assign coaches after the teams have been formed and players assigned. These teams will be named no later than February 28th 2024 and published on the KMBA website.
Expectations: Players registering their commitment for KMBA’s Rep teams acknowledge the full commitment requirement of 2 days per week of practice, and 1 - 4 games per weekend within the province. Seasons can span from early April to late July depending on the team and league results.
Players registered will be scheduled to attend an evaluation tryout session in early February. Evaluations will be conducted by experienced members of KMBA. Players will be notified of team placement, including placements in the REC division.
Summary of each team/division:
15UAA – This team plays in a single season competitive provincial league from April thru July. Playing time is not equal, it is earned based on performance and coach’s decisions to put the team in the best opportunity for success. Development is focused on advancement to 15UAAA or 18UAAA in the future. Travel requirement for this team is extensive.
15UA – This team may not have a spring league to play and will be reliant on tournaments and exhibition games. As a result the level of play will be focused on development and the travel will be much less extensive than AA ball. This team can be formed and practice together from the start of spring, or just formed for July play.
13U AAA Spring - This team plays in a single season competitive provincial league April thru June with potential for competing in Provincials during July. Developing players' skill sets to give them the best opportunity for success and advancement to 13UAAA or 15UAAA is the goal. This is the first level of competitive baseball that does not require fair play as per BC Minor Baseball rules. Travel requirement is extensive.
13U AA Spring - This team plays in a spring interior only competitive league April thru June. Developing players' skill sets to give them the best opportunity for success and advancement to 13UAAA or 15UAAA is the goal. Spring play in this team is fair play based. Travel requirements are between Salmon Arm, Vernon, Kelowna and West Kelowna.
Estimated season costs per player: At this time paid coaching is not expected for these teams and therefore costs for play are KMBA fees, uniforms, team swag but mostly travel costs for away games and possible hotel stays.
