15U GENERAL INFORMATION
Spring Season (April-June/August):
For 15u baseball there are three potential levels KMBA may offer; "A", "AA", "AAA". Often registration will dictate the number of teams and at what level.
"A" baseball is often referred to as house ball. Any players that are not seleceted to play rep will play in our "A" league. If there are enough teams within KMBA they will play amongst themselves, but in order to ensure game play may need to interlock with other Interior/Okanagan teams. Some teams may also opt to find and attend tournaments. Teams are drafted after an evaluation in early April and play until mid-June. Players can expect to be on the field twice a week for practices/games.
"AA" & "AAA" are elite levels of competitive baseball. The season demands a high level of commitment, with 2 - 3 days per week of practice (starting as early as January), 3 - 4 games within the province starting in April and ending in August. BC Minor Baseball schedules these divisions for the province.
Summer "RiverDogs" Season (June - July/August):
In May, players that participated in Spring "A" baseball may be given the opportunity to try out for a competitive "A" Summer house team. This team will practice twice/week, potentially interlock with other Interior & Okanagan teasm, play in tournaments against other associations from around the province, attend zones trying to earn a berth to the provincial championship.
Fall Baseball (September - October):
Fall baseball is comprised of players who will be entering the division in the following year as well as players who will be moving into their second year. Players practice and scrimmage with each other and there may be some additional game time offered. Note, players may be invited to play on a roster to represent KMBA but this will be considered "value added" and is not guaranteed. KMBA typically enters a team in Fall tournaments hosted in Kamloops by Big League Experience (BLE).
Winter Baseball (January-March):
Winterball is run in our first class indoor training facility: Sussex Insurance Centre on McArthur Island. Winterball is designed to offer the players instruction on many of the fundamentals that can get lost in the busy Spring Season. Winterball is an important program for players who wish to try out for the single-season team. Space is limited.
